Carpet Cleaning

Carpet and upholstery cleaning is a professional service Stat Restoration is happy to provide to our customers!

Our equipment used to perform these cleanings is by process of hot water extraction. Our truck-mounted, hot water extraction machines with temperature adjustable wands, inject hot water and a cleaning solution into your carpet or upholstery to agitate and release dirt from deep within. After, the machine extracts the water to remove the dirt. With this method, your carpets or furniture will not be left saturated and will be dry within 24 hours, dependent on environmental conditions.

Hot water extraction, or “deep cleaning,” can be used for a variety of purposes. A few examples include…
• wanting or needing to avoid the buildup of dust, which can lead to coughing, red eyes, runny nose, etc.,
• if you have animals, a deep cleaning is essential to lift the dirt, dander, and oils that our beloved pets naturally carry, or
• simply to keep your carpets or furniture looking fresh and clean.

Why Choose Hot Water Extraction
To effectively clean your carpets and upholstered furniture, hot-water extraction or deep cleaning is necessary. A hot-water extractor agitates an applied surfactant deep in the fibers and then an instant later, extracts the dirt and water. The water, like a washing machine, can be cold, warm, or hot depending on the fabric, but hot produces the best results eliminating more stains and dirt. Steam cleaning only disperses hot steam through the material. This disinfects but does not lift stains. For example, when we stain our favorite shirt, we would not attempt to clean by steaming with a steamer and expect the stain to come out. We would apply stain remover on the spot and throw it in the washing machine with warm/hot water. Use of warm/hot water for carpet or upholstery cleaning with stain remover and soap allows the dirt and the surrounding particles to loosen and be washed away once rinsed.
The terms “steam cleaning” and “hot water extraction” are often used interchangeably, but these processes are two different cleaning procedures. The main difference is the temperature used during each process. Steam cleaning uses actual steam and requires heating water to a high enough temperature to convert it from liquid to gas. Applying straight steam to carpets isn’t always effective as there is less agitation and no rinsing of the fibers; so, while it may help kill germs and reduce allergens, it’s not the best application for removal of stains and soil. Hot water extraction requires water hot enough to clean effectively and deeply, but not hot enough that it converts to steam. Water still in liquid form greatly facilitates in unbinding and withdrawal of the dirt and stain you want removed.

Carpet & Upholstery Process
Our multi-step deep cleaning process is determined on-site based on your carpet or upholstery’s material/fabric type, color, condition, and age to determine the best approach. Missing one of these steps could lead to either an ineffective cleaning or even damage, which is why it is always wise to use a company with knowledge and experience in the carpet and upholstery cleaning industry.
Most carpet and upholstery cleaning services will be similar to the following steps:
1. Our technician will start by inspecting all areas you want to be cleaned and address any questions or concerns you may have.
2. Next is to spot treat any areas that may need extra attention, and pre-spray all areas agreed to be cleaned.
3. This is when we will use our truck-mounted, hot water extraction machines to perform the deep cleaning by agitating the applied pre-spray. These machines pump hot water into your carpet to release any dirt deep within the fibers, then extract the water and remove the dirt. The powerful suction removes a significant amount of water so your carpet or furniture piece will dry within 24 hours.
4. Finally, we will inspect all cleaned areas with you to ensure you are happy with your carpet.
*If requested, we can also perform additional application for areas needing pet treatment and/or odor neutralization.

Although there are steam cleaners and extractors available for rental or purchase, doing the job yourself might not be the best idea as these types of cleaners can soak the carpet, leave detergent residue, or lead to mold without proper ventilation for drying. Professional cleaners follow a process that prevents leaving detergent residue behind as that can attract dirt and lead to dirty carpets again faster. Professional carpet cleaners remove as much of the water as possible and ensure that the carpets dry quickly.

When you’re ready to have your carpets cleaned with the hot water extraction method, contact Stat Restoration for an experienced and professional cleaning every time.
